Defense will win you a lot of games in college basketball, but not all of them. Sometimes you just have to make some shots and the Lower Columbia College men did not make nearly enough of them in a 66-49 loss to Centralia On Saturday, January 12
th.
The Blazers jumped out to a 33-19 lead at halftime and went on to the victory, snapping a 10 game losing streak to Lower Columbia. The last time the Blazers beat the Devils was January 30
th, 2013.
LCC shot just 18 for 56 from the floor (32%) and 3 of 19 from beyond the arc (16%). The free throw shooting wasn't that great either as LCC went 10 for 16.
Seth Hall had a tough shooting night from distance as he hit just one of nine three point attempts. Hall led LCC in scoring with 11 points.
Samaad Hector had 10 points and seven rebounds before leaving the game with a back injury.
Bricin Ford had flashes of brilliance with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Blazers didn't exactly light it up on the scoreboard although LaBrandon Price came off the bench hitting 7 of 11 shots and all four of his three's with 18 points.
The Devils have dug themselves an 0-2 hole in league play as they head out on the road for two games. Next up is the red hot Pierce Raiders who have won eight straight games. The game is in Lakewood, WA on Wednesday January 16
