Snaaap! Devils End Grays Harbor Win Streak

In one of the most complete wins of the season, the Lower Columbia women's basketball team avenged an earlier loss and snapped Grays Harbor's 22-game win streak with a 95-61 victory in Aberdeen on Saturday February 17th.

It was complete Devil domination as three LCC players scored over 20 points.  Hayley Niles got the Red Devils off to a good start with the first five points of the game and she went on to score 25 along with eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

Tywanna Abbott had 22 points and six boards.  Shanay Dotson also had a solid game with 21 points on 9 for 14 shooting.

The game was never in doubt as the Devils came out and sent a message by going after the talented Chokers, who had put the impressive 22 game win streak together including a victory in Longview back on January 20th.

On this day, it was all LCC.

Cherita Daugherty had a tremendous floor game with six points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.

Alexia Thrower led Grays Harbor with 23 points.

The Devils are still a game behind Grays Harbor with three league games to play.  The Devils are 9-2 in the West, 19-8 overall.  LCC hosts South Puget Sound on Wednesday February 21st.  The Chokers, 10-1 in the West and 22-2 overall, will travel to Tacoma on Wednesday.

With Saturday's victory, the Red Devils have clinched a berth into the NWAC tournament. The Sweet 16 will begin on Thursday March 8th in Everett.
