LCC Grinds Out Victory Over Centralia

A strong 4th quarter by the Lower Columbia women's basketball team turned a close game into a big Red Devil victory.

The Devils outscored Centralia 27-14 in the final stanza to take a 71-56 victory over the Blazers.

It was not easy.

The Blazers, playing without leading scorer Kylie Smith, stayed right with the Devils as they were down by just two points after three.

Shanay Dotson fueled the strong finish.  She had back-to-back old fashioned three-point plays in the 4th and finished the game with 18 points with six rebounds.

Madison Crews also hit some big shots as she ended up with 16 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Hayley Niles was three blocks away from a triple-double. She had 11 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocked shots.  LCC had 13 blocks as a team.

Nizhoni Wheeler had 10 points and six boards.  Cherita Daugherty played solid defense and scored six points with six rebounds and eight assists.

The Devils are now 7-2 in league and 17-8 overall.  LCC travels to Lakewood for a game at Pierce on Wednesday February 14th.
