Down 20 at halftime, the Lower Columbia men's basketball team made a game of it before falling short in an 86-78 loss to Peninsula on Saturday December 15th.
Lower Columbia was behind 52-32 at the break as the Pirates shot a blistering 63 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes at the Chemeketa Crossover in Salem.
The Devils got hot in the second half shooting 62 percent, but the Pirates were able to right the ship after LCC had got within six with just under a minute left.
Seth Hall led the Devils in scoring with 15 points.Â
Bricin Ford had another big game off the LCC bench with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Martis Johnson, playing with a painful scratched cornea, had 12 points for LCC.Â
Samaad Hector had 10 points.
The Red Devils drop to 8-3 on the season and they will close out play in the Crossover with a game against host Chemeketa at 3:00 pm on Sunday December 16t.
