Pierce Stays Hot, Downs The Devils In Longview

The Pierce Raiders stayed unbeaten in the West Division as they defeated the Lower Columbia volleyball team 3-0 on Friday November 2nd.

Pierce has got a good thing going this season as they moved their record to 13-0 in the NWAC West.  The Devils dropped to 9-4 in the division and are locked into the #3 seed in the upcoming NWAC Championships.

The set scores against Pierce were 25-20, 25-19 and 25-13.

Jocelyn Hillyer of the Raiders led the way with 16 kills.

Paige Moorcroft was the only LCC player in double figure kills as she had 11.  Lower Columbia had a rough .024 kill percentage.

Macey Wright had 24 assists from the setter position.  Haley Paul had 17 digs.

It was a very good crowd on hand, but the LCC fans went home disappointed.  They get one more chance to root for the home team as Lower Columbia hosts Green River on Wednesday November 7th.  It's Sophomore Night and the five departing Red Devils will be honored prior to the match, set to begin at 7 pm.

Those sophomores and their freshman teammates are far from done this season.  The Devils open up NWAC Championship tournament action Thursday November 15th at 9:00 am against North #2 seed, Shoreline.  The action is at the Tacoma Convention Center in downtown Tacoma.
