Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Sophomore Night Sweep

Five Lower Columbia College volleyball sophomores who made a lasting impression on campus went out a winner on their final home match on Wednesday November 7th.

Sophomore Night was a big success as LCC defeated Green River 25-9, 25-7 and 25-9.

Cassidy Thompson led the way with 13 kills and nine digs in her final LCC home match.

The night was all about the sophomores as Maria Teed, Macey Wright, Thompson, Maddie Stimmell and Megan Miller were honored with gifts and framed pictures from teammates and the LCC athletic department.  Parents and family members were also on hand including a surprise visit from Thompson's sister who lives in Arizona.

The sophomore's didn't disappoint.

Teed has battled injuries all season long and was unavailable to play.  Wright did her thing with 38 assists and eight digs.  Thompson also had five aces.  Miller was solid as always with eight kills. Stimmel had six kills and four digs.

The Devils end the West Region season with a record of 10-4 and 27-8 overall.

Lower Columbia will begin the NWAC championship tournament on Thursday November 15th when they take on the Shoreline Dolphins in a 9 am match at the Tacoma Convention Center.

The honored sophomores helped the LCC team take 5th at the NWAC's last year.  They have goals to go even further this season.  But win or lose, they have been tremendous people who represented the college and themselves well.
