The Lower Columbia men's basketball team opened the season with a 96-58 road win at Blue Mountain College.
LCC started fast and raced out to a 50-23 lead at halftime and then banked the wire-to-wire win.
Freshman
Martis Johnson had a great college debut as he had 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Johnson was 9 for 13 from the floor.
Seth Hall also scored 20 points including 3 for 5 from three point range.
Bricin Ford was very solid with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ford was 8 for 12 from the floor, including a resounding slam dunk in the face of a Blue Mountain defender.
Cody Young came off the bench and provided energy and good numbers. Young had 12 points, four boards and four assists.
The Devils shot well in the opener. LCC was 55.4% from the floor, 50% from beyond the arc and 74% from the free throw line.
LCC (1-0) will host the 32nd annual Red Devil Classic Friday November 23-25 at Myklebust Gym. The Devils open with the Southwestern Oregon Lakers in the home opener Friday at 8 pm.
