The Lower Columbia women's soccer team capped off the season with a great road effort, a 1-1 tie at playoff bound Bellevue.
Â
But the Devils didn't get the help they needed when Tacoma scored two goals late to beat Pierce 2-0.
Â
The Tacoma win coupled with the Red Devils tie, put the Titans into the post season and ended the LCC season.
Â
Lower Columbia played great against the Bulldogs on Saturday October 27
th.
Â
After a scoreless first half, the Devils got on the board first at the 48 minute mark when
Jessica Jude scored on a

Â
The match ended in a tie and when TCC took our Pierce, the LCC season was suddenly over.
Â
It was a great run down the stretch for
Bryan Vogel's team as they went 3-1-1 in the final five matches to set up a chance of the final day of the regular season. Tacoma will travel to Whatcom in the first round of the NWAC playoffs on Wednesday.
Â
Kennedy Werner was outstanding in goal on her final match as a Red Devil. She had seven saves.
Â
Werner was joined by eight other sophomores who ended their playing time at LCC playing in the final match. The Devils played without
Baylee Wright who missed the match due to a family commitment.
Kayla Willis and
Samantha Pestner also missed the game due to injuries. Vermeulen,
Kaylee Murray,
Maddie McCallister,
Zoey Brimhall,
Ashlynn Willis,
Makenna Spillett,
Brianna Vollertsen and
Chloe Brimhall all ended the season with a great effort. For Chloe, she played all 90 minutes capping a great two-year career.
Â
The Devils ended the season at 10-5-2 overall and 8-4-2 in the West, two points behind third place TCC.
Â
With several top freshman players coming back and another rich recruiting class soon to sign, the resurgence in Red Devil soccer will continue in 2019. The sophomore players will forever be linked to taking the Devils to the next level.
