Box Score The Lower Columbia College Red Devils and the Clark Penguins went toe-to-toe in a highly entertaining NWAC volleyball match Wednesday August 30th.
But in the end, put your forks up! The Devils won it.
Either team could have won, but LCC got the fifth deciding set 15-13.
The Devils came out strong, taking the first set 25-17. Clark then bounced back and tied it up with a 25-17 victory in set two. The third set was an absolute classic as LCC battled back to earn a hard fought 31-29 win. Clark then responded with a 25-21 win to set up the decider.
Megan Miller and
Cassidy Thompson led the Devils net attack with 12 kills each.Â
McKenna LaRoy had a breakout match with 10 kills
Nina Bailey was also solid with five kills and a team-high six blocks.
Macey Wright was doing her thing with 34 assists and 29 digs. Speaking of digs,
Khloe Clark led LCC with 35.
Dalaney Tuholski led Clark with a match-high 16 kills.
The Devils are now 8-2 on the season, while the Penguins fall to 7-1.
Lower Columbia heads to Salem on Thursday August 31st for a 6 pm match with the Chemeketa Storm. It will be the devils tenth match in six days.
