Devils Go 5-1 At NWAC Fall Festival

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 The Lower Columbia volleyball team needed a wake up call at the NWAC Fall Festival.

The Clark Penguins defeated the Red Devils 2-0 in the tourney opener.  That loss awakened the Devils who then rattled off five straight wins in the upper level bracket of the event in Eugene-Springfield, OR Saturday and Sunday August 26-27.

Following the Clark loss, LCC defeated Bellevue 2-0, North Idaho 2-0 and Shoreline 2-0, all on Saturday.

Sunday morning's first match also started very slow.  In a rematch from last season's NWAC title match, Linn Benton blasted the Devils 25-7.  But LCC responded by taking the next two sets 25-19 and 15-10.

Lower Columbia capped off the weekend with a 2-0 victory over Walla Walla on Sunday.

The high level of competition continues this week with a pair of three team affairs on Myklebust Gym.

Tuesday, the Devils take on Edmonds at 2 pm.  Edmonds and Linn Benton meet at 4:00.  Then Linn Benton and LCC will square off again Tuesday night at 7 pm.

Wednesday, LCC will host Olympic and Clark.  The Rangers and Devils meet at 2 pm.  Olympic and Clark tangle at 4:00 pm.  Then LCC will get another shot at Clark Wednesday night at 7 pm.

LCC will take a road trip Thursday at Chemeketa. The match in Salem begins at 6 pm.
