Box Score With just three returners from last season's NWAC Championship team, the Lower Columbia College Red Devils will have a lot to sort out before league play begins.
Might as well win matches as you go along.
That is what LCC did on Friday August 25th, as the opened the season with a 3-1 victory over the Columbia Basin Hawks.
The set scores were 25-20, 25-22, 14-25 and 25-13.
Khloe Clark led the LCC effort with 20 digs. It was a balanced net effort as
Megan Miller,
Cassidy Thompson and
Emma Houck each had eight kills.
Macey Wright had 21 assists in her college debut. Returner
Olivia Conradi added 12 assists.
CBC also featured a balanced effort up front as Cally Evans, Riley Hanson and Kyrten Whitmore had eight kills each. Tajia Rice provided 32 assists and Brooke Swanson had 25 digs.
The Devils (1-0) take part in the NWAC Fall Festival this weekend in Eugene-Springfield. LCC opens with Clark at 9am Saturday August 26th. LCC and Bellevue play at 10:15 am followed by the Devils against North Idaho at 2:00 pm. The bust day ends with LCc versus Shoreline at 4:30 pm.
Sunday's action begins with a championship rematch as LCC and Linn Benton square off at 10 am. The final LCC match is at 1:00 pm Sunday against Walla Walla.
