The Lower Columbia men's basketball team has put itself back into the West Region championship picture by snapping a three game league losing streak with an 84-66 victory over Green River on Wednesday February 15th.
Devin Johnson returned to the lineup after missing a game due to concussion protocol and celebrated his birthday in style. The LCC sophomore scored 16 of his game-high 17 points in the first half as the Devils eliminated any doubt early. Johnson had eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
Keun Palu-Thompson had a solid night with 15 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Elijah Cotton-Welch added 11 points.Â
Geordi Morrow was a force with 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench.Â
Marcus Lord had nine points and and four boards.
The Devils outrebounded the Gators 40-32. LCC also took care of the ball with 13 turnovers.
LCC will head out on the road Saturday February 18th when they take on the Highline Thunderbirds in Des Moines. Tip time is at 2 pm. The Devils will then play at Centralia Wednesday February 22nd before hosting Grays Harbor in the final home game on Saturday February 25th. The final regular season game is Wednesday March 1st at South Puget Sound.
The Devils are 7-3 in league and 18-7 overall.
