It sure wasn't looking good early.
The Lane Titans came out blazing on their home court, taking a 12 point lead in the first six minutes. But after being down 17 the Red Devils stayed the course, settled down and came away with a 94-85 overtime victory on the first day of the Lane Dale Bates tournament on Friday December 8th.
Donald Scott's lay-in with ten seconds left in regulation sent it into the extra session and the Devils took control from there for the big victory.
LCC will take on Umpqua Saturday December 9th at 4 pm in Eugene.
Scott had a big game for the Devils. He scored 19Â points and also hit a big free throw to preserve a four point lead in the OT after LCC had gone up by seven.
Spencer Sweet had 20 points and 10 boards for LCC.Â
Said Ali also played really well down the stretch as he fueled the Red Devil comeback. Ali ended up with 17 points.
Dwayne Stewart had 12 points. Wes Gilbert scored eight.
Brandon Cotton scored 13.
It was the Devils first road game of the season and it took the kind of mental toughness you need to withstand an early onslaught in an opponents gym.
