The Lower Columbia men's basketball team shook off a tough first 10 minutes and came back to beat Umpqua 78-73 on Friday December 1st.
Down by 13 mid way through the first half, LCC got within six at halftime and then outscored the Riverhawks 42-29 in the second half to raise their record to 5-1 on the season.
Brandon Cotton led Lower Columbia with 22 points.
LCC got great work off the bench by a pair of freshman big men.Â
Donald Scott had 12 points and five steals.Â
Dwayne Stewart also had 12 points.
Wesley Gilbert had nine points and 10 rebounds.
Alec Canete-Hall provided a second half spark with eight points.
Erik Klekas led Umpqua with 22 points.
The Devils host Chekemeta on Saturday December 2nd at 2 pm.
