Box Score It was looking like a West Region road sweep on Friday September 29th. The Grays Harbor Chokers would have no part of getting swept at home.
The Chokers rallied from two sets down to get the match to a fifth and deciding set, but the Red Devils were able to right the ship and come away with a 3-2 victory at Aberdeen High School.
Nina Bailey led the LCC victory with 14 kills.
But it was not easy. LCC had to dig deep and remember the team motto "We Fight!"
LCC was looking good by winning the first two sets 25-21, 25-21. Grays Harbor came roaring back with victories 19-25 and 22-25. The Devils came away with the decider 15-12.
Megan Miller had 13 kills with a .400 kill percentage.Â
Cassidy Thompson had a solid all-around match with nine kills and 14 digs.
Macey Wright led the set game with 28 assists. Wright also had 12 digs.
Olivia Conradi had 20 assists.
Khloe Clark had 25 digs to lead LCC in that category.
With the hard earned victory, the Devils go to 4-0 in the West Region and 15-5 overall.
Lower Columbia will head to Des Moines on Wednesday October 4th to take on the Highline Thunderbirds at 7 pm.
Looming is a big West showdown on Friday October 6th when LCC hosts Pierce. Both the Devils and Raiders are 4-0 in league and depending on Wednesday's matches, it could be a showdown of unbeaten's. Pierce hosts South Puget Sound on Wednesday.
