The Highline Thunderbirds scored three goals in the first 28 minutes and went on to shutout Lower Columbia 4-0 in women's NWAC soccer on Saturday October 14th in Longview.
McKenzie Buell got the scoring started with an unassisted goal at the 13 minute mark. Jewel Boland then scored two goals within a two minute span at 26' and Highline was able to control the match.
Lower Columbia did not back down after the early deficit and they played the T-Birds tough the rest of the way. Kaci-Lyn Navarro added a goal at 75' to cap the scoring on a bright sunny day in Longview.
LCC was led by the defensive efforts of
Chloe Brimhall and goal keeper
Kennedy Werner.
Werner had nine saves for LCC. The T-Birds out shot the Red Devils 19- 5.

Kayla Willis and
Kaylee Murray.
The Devils are 3-5-2 in the West, 5-7-3 overall. Highline stays unbeaten in the West at 9-0-1, 12-0-1 overall.
The Devils are two points out of 4th place behind Pierce. LCC has one more regular season road match next Wednesday at Green River. The match starts at 2 pm.
LCC closes out the league season with three straight home matches.
