Keun Palu-Thompson hit a free throw with under 10 seconds left to preserve a 54-53 victory over Highline on Saturday January 21st.
The T-Birds hit a three at the buzzer but the Devils staved off the upset to go to 4-0 in West Region play.
It was a grinder as both teams had over 40 stops in the game.  LCC's 20 turnovers offset its 46 percent shooting on the night. The Thunderbirds shot just 32 percent from the floor, but had just nine turnovers.
Brandon Cotton led the Devils with 13 points on five-for-six shooting.Â
Spencer Sweet had 12 points and eight rebounds.
Palu-Thompson had a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.
Devin Johnson was saddled with foul trouble and ended with four points and eight rebounds.
LCC is now 14-4. The Devils are tied with South Puget Sound for first place in the West at 4-0.
The Devils host Centralia at 8 pm on Wednesday January 25th. It's ASLCC Spirit Night and there will be special games and giveaways. Make sure you come early for the women's game at 6 pm because the first 100 people will receive a free white T-Shirt. The game is a "White Out" so all Devils fans are encouraged to wear white.
