Devils Punch Ticket To Everett With Playoff Win Over Chemeketa

The Lower Columbia women's basketball team is heading to Everett for the NWAC Elite Eight.

The Devils rode a big game from sophomore leader Katie Hankins to a 62-48 playoff win over the Chemeketa Storm on Saturday March 5th.

Playing in her final game at Myklebust Gym, Hankins scored 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Hankins was 10-17 from the floor.

LCC had a 38-30 lead at the break, then grabbed a hold of the game by holding the Storm to just five points in the third quarter.

Storm star Jessica Sexson scored 20 points, but just four in the second half.

Keahi-lele Roy had a solid game with 14 points and five boards.  Samantha Boyce had nine points and seven rebounds.

Katerina Brejchova played stellar defense on Sexson and added three points, four boards and three steals in her final game at Myklebust Gym.

The Devils will take on the Spokane Sasquatch at the Elite Eight in Everett. The game will tip off at 12 noon.

LCC is making it's 22nd appearance in the NWAC Tournament.
