Lady Devils Hold on for the win

The Lower Columbia women's basketball team advanced to the NWAC final four with a 64-61 victory over Spokane on Thursday March 10th in Everett.

The Devils had to hold on for dear life to get it done. Up by 14 in the 3rd quarter, the Devils saw the Sasquatch put on a furious rally to get within one with 8.4 seconds left. Katerina Brejchova hit two big free throws to keep Spokane at bay. A Bigfoot desperation three fell short. Katie Hankins had a huge game for LCC with 25 points on 11 for 17 shooting. Faye Chartraw had an incredible game with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Chartraw hit three clutch three-pointers that got LCC the lead they would hold. Brejchova had 12 points and four assists to go with her floor game and late heroics. Carissa Cannon had six points for LCC.

Bri King had 21 to lead Spokane.

The Devils have clinched at least fifth for the 7th time in school history. The ladies will get Friday off before they play Peninsula in a semi-final matchup at 2pm Saturday, Peninsula defeated Umpqua 70-67.

Saturday's game can be heard live on AM 1490 KLOG at 1:55 pm.
