The Lower Columbia College women's basketball team came up with a big road win on Saturday January 30th.
A 71-58 victory at South Puget Sound capped a 7-0 league mark through the first round of West Region play.
Katerina Brejchova had a double-double to lead the way. The sophomore from the Czech Republic had 13 points, 13 rebounds and four assists. Kat also had two steals to provide the numbers needed for victory.
Katie Hankins was solid again as she led the Devils in scoring with 15 points and seven rebounds.Â
Faye Chartraw also scored in double-figures with 14 points.
Bailey Hockett had five points and seven rebounds.
Carissa Cannon and
Nesija Selava had six points each. LCC had 18 points off the bench as opposed to the Clippers with just four.
Savannah McGill had a big game for the Clippers with 21 points and 17 rebounds.
The Devils defense held the Clippers to 30 percent shooting while LCC shot 41 percent.
With the win, the Devils go to 15-8 overall and 7-0 in the West. LCC has won seven straight games.
The West Region takes a bye on Wednesday. The next Red Devil game is Saturday February 6th when the second round of league begins with a 5 pm tip-off against the Pierce Raiders at Myklebust Gym.
