The Lower Columbia women's basketball team got a couple of bonus home games and made them winners.
The Portland Cross Over tournament was cancelled at the last minute due to ice concerns on the Cascade campus in Portland. So LCC contacted two of the closest teams in the field and arranged to play three of the six cancelled games at Myklebust Gym.
On Friday December 16th, Lower Columbia defeated Bellevue 75-53 as
Faye Chartraw led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points, despite playing with a sore back.
Keahi-lele Roy added 13 points.Â
Madison Hinrichs had 11 points, five assists and three steals.Â
Kaitlin Lewis had seven points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
Madison Crews also scored seven.
The Devils committed just 10 turnovers and forced the Bulldogs into 22 turnovers that led to 17 points.
On Sunday December 18th, the Devils defeated Portland 67-52. Hinrichs had 18 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Madison Lord had a big game with 17 points, nine boards and two steals. Crews added 13 points.
The Devils have dispersed for the Christmas holiday with a 9-2 record. The team will get back together for the Lower Columbia Holiday Classic beginning Wednesday December 28th at Myklebust Gym. The Devils open the eight team tournament with a game against the Mt. Hood Saints at 7 pm on December 28th.
