Devils Beat The Clips, Co Best In The West!

The Lower Columbia College volleyball team earned the school's first West Region title since 2005 when they closed out the regular season with a 3-0 victory at South Puget Sound on Wednesday November 9th.

The Devils 25-22, 25-13 and 25-21 victory gave them the Co-West Region Championship along with Highline.  Both teams finished at 12-2 in league and split the league series 1-1.

Kallie Schmit had 13 kills and 12 digs to lead the Red Devils against the Clippers.  Rachel Erickson had nine kills and eight digs playing in her hometown of Olympia.

Haylee Savage had 30 assists on the night and Khloe Clark dug out 12.

Olivia Conradi contributed 10 digs in a solid match featuring good court time.

The Devils win their 9th Region title in school history, but will go the NWAC Championship tournament as the West #2 seed.  Highline took the top seed because they had a better record (2-0) against the third place team Pierce. The Devils split with the Raiders.

LCC will open the NWAC Championships at the Tacoma Convention Center on Thursday morning November 17th.  The Devils take on Spokane at 9:00 am. The Sasquatch was the #3 team from the East Region.

Spokane beat LCC 2-0 at the NWAC Fall Festival in Eugene on August 28th.
