Wire to wire victories on the road are hard to come by, especially at a tough place to play in Highline.
But the Devils did it on Wednesday January 20th, leading all the way in a 75-60 win over the T-Birds.
LCC raced to a 40-26 halftime lead and then bumped the lead up to 19 in the second half. It was a great job of playing with the lead and then not giving it up cautiously.
Leading the way was
Lawrence Russell who had 21 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Keun Palu-Thompson also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. He also had three assists and two steals.
Devin Johnson had 12 points, six boards, three blocks and two steals.
Kyle Bobo didn't score, but he played well. The sophomore point had seven assists and did not turn the ball over against the Highline pressure.
The Devils shot 51 percent in a domed gym notoriously tough for road teams.
Jamie Orme had 23 points to lead Highline.
The Devils go to 4-0 in West Region play, while Highline slips to 3-1. LCC will play at Centralia Saturday January 22nd, tip off at 7 pm.
