It seemed like the Red Devils were swimming upstream for 35 minutes. Then Lawrence Russell suddenly took over and led LCC to a 79-75 victory over Tacoma on Wednesday January 13th.

Down nine in the first half and five at halftime, LCC rode the 30 points of Russell to the victory.  After LCC went 0-13 from three point range, Russell hit two late three's to get the Devils in position to win.  The sophomore from Lake Elsinore, California was aggressive also, driving in the lane and drawing fouls. Russell was 16 for 19 at the free throw line.

Tacoma native Keun Palu-Thompson had 15 points for the Devils.  Devin Johnson had eight points and eight rebounds.

LCC as a team was 31 for 38 from the charity stripe.

Tacoma was led by the Patrick Ling with 19, Kahliel Wyatt with 18 and Jaurence Chisholm had 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Devils go to 2-0 in the West Region after the hard fought victory.
