The Red Devil baseball team had an 11-game winning streak snapped in a non-conference double header with the Pacific JV's on Tuesday April 14th.
In a twin bill that featured 30 walks between the two teams, Pacific beat LCC 3-2 and LCC came back for an 11-5 win.
In the first game, the Devils left 14 runners on base. Chris Rogers led the offense with two hits and an RBI. Rory Graf-Brennen had an RBI double and Max Tilton and Seaver Whalen had two hits each.
Tanner Olson made the start and was scheduled for just one inning as he returns from injury. He allowed one run and two hits in his only frame. Peyton Burks took the loss, allowing two runs on two hits in 3 1/3 innings. Ryan Peart pitched around three walks in allowing no runs and two hits in 4 2/3 innings.
The second game featured 20 walks, 10 by each team. LCC starter Gabe Ihrig struggled with his control with six free passes and four runs in 1 2/3 frames. Max Tilton got the win by going 4 1/3 innings of one-hit, scoreless relief. Junior Ledgard gave up a run in his one inning or work.
Ryan Littlefield had two hits and three RBI to lead the LCC offense. LCC blew the game open with four runs in the 5th and three in the 6th. Ryan Engquist had two hits and two RBI. Lorin Archibald drove in a pair with a double and finished with three RBI's.
The Devils now set their sights back on the West Region when they take on Green River in a four game set this weekend. LCC will host the Gators Saturday in a 1 pm double header at Story Field. Both games can be heard live on the internet at klog.com/listen. The teams will then meet for two at Heritage Park in Puyallup on Sunday. Start time is also 1 pm.
