The Lower Columbia men's basketball team will have a post season game. It will either be at the NWAC tourney, or it will be a one-game playoff at Green River.
LCC defeated Centralia 64-49 at Michael Smith Gym in Hub City Wednesday night. The victory gives LCC a 10-5 league mark with one game to go on Saturday at home against Grays Harbor. LCC is now tied with Pierce for third, and a game ahead of Green River for the 4th and final NWAC spot out of the West. If the Devils win against the Chokers, they could either take the third spot or the fourth position. A loss to the Harbor and a Green River win over Centralia would force a one-game playoff at Green River early next week.
Against the Blazers, Ryan Lee had a solid game with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Centralia hit a three-quarter court shot just before the halftime buzzer to cut the Devils lead to six. But LCC was solid in the second half as they stepped up the defense and outscored the Blazers 35-26 in the second half.
Taylor Drey had 12 points and six rebounds. Jeremy Burright provided 12 points seven boards. Michael Dupree had a tough shooting night, but still had 10 points, six rebounds and three steals.
The Devils will honor three sophomores on Saturday prior to the 7 pm tip off with Grays Harbor. The game will be televised in HD on the internet at tofervision.com/lcc. The game will also be broadcast on AM 1490 KLOG in the Longview-Kelso area. The KLOG audio is also on klog.com worldwide.
