A secomd half comeback fell short as the Lower Columbia women's team lost to Skagit Valley 73-68 at the Bellevue Bulldogs Classic on Sunday December 6th.
The Devils won one and lost two at the tournament. Umpqua beat the Devils 73-48 on Friday. LCC beat Kwantlen BC 80-42 on Saturday.
Aganst Skagit, sophomore
Katie Hankins had a career high 27 points and 8 rebounds to lead the way. Down 40-30 at the half, LCC battled back to make it a game but the Cardinals came away with the win.
Bailey Hockett had 13 points and 5 rebounds against SVC.
In the win over Kwantlen,
Faye Chartraw had a solid game with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Lexie Turner had 15 points and 4 steals. Hankins had 12 points.
In the loss to Umpqua, the Devils shot just 30 percent and were 3 for 18 from beyond the arc. Hankins was the lone LCC player in double figures with 10. Turner had 8.
The Devils go to 3-3 on the season. The next action is Tuesday December 8th with a road game at Portland. Tip off time is 6 pm.
