The shortest road trip of the season turned out to be the longest.
The Lower Columbia women's basketball team lost to Clark 84-56 on Wedneday December 9th. The Penguins jumped out to a 23-8 lead after one quarter and went on to the non-league victory.
The Devils finally made it back home at 1:30 am Thursday after having to take a detour to Seaside, Oregon and back to Longview through Astoria and Clatskanie. Interstate Five northbound was closed due to a landslide.
It certainly was a trip to remember, and one to forget.
Katerina Brejchova led LCC with 12 points.
Katie Hankins had 11 points and 10 rebounds.Â
Carissa Cannon had seven points and eight rebounds.
The Devils didn't quit despite, the big early deficit. They crawled back within seven, but Clark went on a long run in the third quarter to regain control.
LCC continues a busy schedule as they head to Everett for the Crossover tournament there. LCC opens up with Southwestern Oregon on Friday December 11th at 4 pm.
