The Lower Columbia College women's basketball team won two of three games to take third place at the Everett Classic December 11-13.
The Devils opened the tourney with a 78-60 victory over Southwestern Oregon.Â
Katie Hankins had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead the way.Â
Faye Chartraw had 14 points.Â
Katerina Brejchova had 12 points and three steals.Â
Mireya Villanueva added 10 points.
Spokane defeated LCC 81-66 in Saturday's semi-final matchup. Down just two at the half, the Sasquatch took charge in the second half including a 19-7 third quarter that was key. Brejchova had 20 points and 13 rebounds for LCC. Hankins had 12 points and five boards. Chartraw had 11 points and six rebounds.
Samantha Boyce contributed 10 points and five rebounds.
The Devils got off to a hot start in the 3rd/5th place game on Sunday versus Big Bend. LCC led 16-2 after the first quarter and went on to a 66-47 victory. Hankins had another double-double with 19 poijts and 10 rebounds. Brejchova had a double-double also with 10 points and 12 boards. Chartraw had 11 points and five rebounds.Â
Keahi-lele Roy added 10 points.
Brejchova was named to the All-Tournament team.
The Devils are now 6-5 on the season as they get ready to host 6-3 Clackamas Tuesday December 15th. Tip off time at Myklebust Gym is 6 pm. The game will be streamed live on the LCC Athletics You Tube channel Devil Vision.
