The Lower Columbia College men's basketball team had a good showing at the Lane Crossover Tournament in Eugene, Oregon December 17-19. The Devils took third place in the eight team affair.
After a tourney opening win over Peninsula on Thursday, the Devils lost to Clark 91-80 in Friday's semi-finals. 19 turnovers which led to 24 Clark points did in LCC.
Lawrence Russell had a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Russell also had four assist and three steals.
Devil Johnson added 13 points.
Keun Palu-Thompson had 12 points and five assists.
Elijah Cotton-Welch also scored 10.
On Saturday, the Devils bounced back with a 75-60 win over Umpqua to take the third place trophy.
Kyle Bobo led the way with 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Marcus Lord had 12 points.
Geordi Morrow was good off the bench with 11 points and six rebounds. Russell added 10 points, five boards and three thefts.
Jared Roffler had three blocks to go with his eight points.
With three solid games, Russell was named to the Lane All-Tournament team.
Lower Columbia is now 6-5 on the season as they take a few days off for Christmas. The Devils will host thier Alumni team Tuesday December 29th at 7 pm, following action at the LCC women's Holiday Classic.
