The Magnificent Seven Are Winners On Sophomore Night

Seven Lower Columbia College sophomore volleyball players made sure it was a great night by defeating Centralia 3-2 on Friday November 6th.

It wasn't easy.

The Centralia Blazers extended the Devils to a 5th and deciding set, but LCC came through in the end. The set scores were 25-17, 18-25, 23-25, 25-13 and 15-13.

Freshman Kaysee Wohl had a huge match.  She had 17 kills with just three attack errors. Fellow freshman Rachel Erickson had 11 kills.

Playing in her final home match, Madison Studer had a good night with 10 kills and two blocks.  Sophomore Shelby Bergum had 8 kills and 3 blocks.

Another sophomore stepped up as Kayla Keane had 22 assists and 9 digs.  Haylee Savage also had 18 assists and 7 digs.  Kylie Reinholdt led LCC with 22 digs.

With the win, the Devils closed out the regular season with 19 wins and 16 losses. LCC's 8-4 West division mark was good for third place heading into the NWAC tournament in Tacoma.

LCC will open up the tournament on Thursday November 19th against the #2 team from the North, either Bellevue, Skagit Valley or Olympic.  The match will begin at 9:00 am on court two at the Greater Tacoma Trade and Convention Center.
