Seven Lower Columbia College sophomore volleyball players made sure it was a great night by defeating Centralia 3-2 on Friday November 6th.
It wasn't easy.
The Centralia Blazers extended the Devils to a 5th and deciding set, but LCC came through in the end. The set scores were 25-17, 18-25, 23-25, 25-13 and 15-13.
Freshman
Kaysee Wohl had a huge match. She had 17 kills with just three attack errors. Fellow freshman
Rachel Erickson had 11 kills.
Playing in her final home match,
Madison Studer had a good night with 10 kills and two blocks. Sophomore
Shelby Bergum had 8 kills and 3 blocks.
Another sophomore stepped up as
Kayla Keane had 22 assists and 9 digs.Â
Haylee Savage also had 18 assists and 7 digs.Â
Kylie Reinholdt led LCC with 22 digs.
With the win, the Devils closed out the regular season with 19 wins and 16 losses. LCC's 8-4 West division mark was good for third place heading into the NWAC tournament in Tacoma.
LCC will open up the tournament on Thursday November 19th against the #2 team from the North, either Bellevue, Skagit Valley or Olympic. The match will begin at 9:00 am on court two at the Greater Tacoma Trade and Convention Center.Â
