A successful 2015 season for the LCC Red Devils came to an end on day two of the NWAC Volleyball Championships Friday November 20th.
Highline defeated Lower Columbia 25-23, 25-15 in an elimination match. The Devils jumped out to an early lead in set one against the talented Thunderbirds, a team the Devils upset earlier in the league season. But the T-Birds rallied to take that initial set and then dominated the final set to advance. Highline was eilimated in its next match at the tournament.
Rachel Erickson had six kills and 11 digs to lead LCC. Numbers were hard to come by against the T-Birds.Â
Kelsey Brown lead in assists with nine. The Devils could muster just one block in the match.
A 20-win season and an NWAC berth has the LCC program on the upswing as they begin the recruiting trail in earnest.
Playing thier final matches as Red Devils were
Zoey Mohr,
Sierra Addicott,
Alexa Bond,
Shelby Bergum,
Kayla Keane,
Jenna Booker and
Madison Studer. This was a memorable bunch of student/athletes who all made us proud as they worked through the ups and downs of college life. 2015 was definately a success and the future is bright.
