The Lower Columbia men's basketball team won its second straight game on Sunday November 29th, defeating the Mt. Hood Saints 71-54 at the Red Devil Classic.
Devin Johnson had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the way as the Devils took 4th in the eight team tournament. Spokane beat Everett 104-85 in the championship game. Southwestern Oregon took third place with a 73-64 win over Yakima Valley.
Keun Palu-Thompson had a big game for LCC against the Saints. He capped off an All-Tournament selection by scoring 18 points.
Marcus Lord had 10 points and nine rebounds for LCC as the Devils hit the boards, played defense and ran the floor. LCC outrebounded Mt. Hood 47-36.
LCC shot 45 percent from the floor and 10 for 12 from the free throw line. Johnson himself was 8 for 8 at the charity stripe.
The Devils are now 2-3 on the season as they head to Portland for a game with the Panthers on Wednesday December 2nd. Tip off is set for 7 pm.
Lower Columbia returns home for the four-team Kirkpatrick Family Care Regional affair on Saturday December 5th. Chemeketa takes on Bellevue at 6 pm followed by LCC against Wenatchee Valley at 8 pm. The winners will play Sunday at 4 pm and the losers tangle Sunday at 2 pm. All four games at Myklebust Gym.Â
