The Red Devils captured the first victory of the season with a solid 82-69 win over Olympic on Saturday November 28th.
The win allowed the Devils to play another game at the Red Devil Classic. LCC will play either Yakima Valley at 12 pm or Mt. Hood at 2 pm depending on the results of the tournament semi-finals Saturday night. You can get the latest schedule at newacsports.org after 10pm Saturday night.
Making the most of his first college start, freshman
Keun Palu-Thompson scored 17 points to lead a balanced Devil scoring attack against the Rangers. Palu-Thompson was 7 for 12 from the fllor and also dished off three assists.
Marcus Lord got the Devils off to a fast start, fueling an early run. Lord scored 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Fellow freshman big men
Geordi Morrow (12 points) and
Devin Johnson (10 points, 3 blocks) also played well.
Nate Solomon and
Lawrence Russell had nine points each. 10 Red Devils players had over 13 minutes of playing time in an outstanding team effort.
LCC shot 56 percent from the floor and hit 5 of 11 three-pointers (46%).
Olympic was led by the 18 points of Brian Neal.
Lower Columbia (1-3) will get another game in the Red Devil Classic as the young team gets more experience against solid competition.
