The Lower Columbia women's basketball team learned a lot from the opening weekend. After a season opening win over Southwestern Oregon, they split back to back home games. The Devils beat Columbia Basin 75-65 on Saturday November 21st. The going was much tougher on Sunday November 22nd as defending champion Peninsula took a 72-51 victory.
Sophomore
Katie Hankins had a big weekend as she scored 20 points with 8 rebounds against CBC, her second straight 20 point game to start the season.
Bailey Hockett had 18 points and 13 rebounds, her first college double-double.Â
Katerina Brejchova and
Samantha Boyce had 10 each for the Devils, who shot 44 percent for the game.
Sunday the Pirates showed that they will be in contention for another title. They raced out to a huge lead and were in control from the start.
Hankins again led the Devils with 12Â points and 6 rebounds. Freshman
Faye Chartraw had 8 points and 5 rebounds.
The Devils take some time off for the Thanksgiving holiday. The next game is a road game at Portland on Tuesday December 8th. LCC plays at Clark the following day on Wednesday December 9th.
