LONGVIEW- After a couple of 3-way ties in each pool, Tacoma would eventually emerge victorious after a sweep of Walla Walla coming on the heels of a epic 5 set win over Linn-Benton in the Semi-finals of the NWAC Crossover Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Lower Columbia College October 16th and 17th. Walla Walla would reach the finals after wins against Everett and Spokane. Linn-Benton would knock off Spokane in straight sets to win the consolation bracket.
The Red Devils went 2-4 in the tournament. In Friday's Pool Play action, LCC opened up with a 25-22, 17-25, 15-7 victory over Shoreline. Linn-Benton next defeated the Devils 25-17, 25-11. Walla Walla then beat the Devils 25-19, 25-14.
LCC was the #4 seed going into Saturday's Bracket Play. Lower Columbia lost a tough one to a very good Spokane team 25-19, 21-25, 22-25, 15-11. LCC bounced back with a 25-18, 25-22 sweep over Southwestern Oregon. Linn Benton then ended the Devils tourney with a 14-25, 25-13, 15-6 win.
Rachel Erickson of LCC was named to the All-Tournament team in a vote of tournament coaches.
