The Lower Columbia College women's basketball team has set things up for a big showdown on Saturday. The Devils defeated Tacoma 82-45 on Wednesday January 21st.
With the win, LCC ups its league mark to 6-0. It will be a battle of 6-0 teams on Saturday January 24th when the Centralia Blazers come to the Mark Morris Gym for a 5 pm tip-off.
Against the Titans, the Devils picked up the pace in the second half and cruised to the win. The Titans showed plenty of heart by coming to Longview with just five available players.
Kaylea Knox led the Devils with 22 points, six rebounds and six assists. Donniesha Webber had 11 points and five assists. No Red Devil played less than 12 minutes as Coach Chad Meadors distributed the minutes against the injury depleted Titans.
Sierra Richards added 10 points, five boards and three blocks. Katie Hankins had seven points and seven caroms. Emily Griner played well with eight points and six rebounds.
The Devils will have to ramp up the focus on Saturday against a very good Centralia team. It will be the final game of the season at the Mark Morris Gym as the Devils return to thier newly remodeled Myklebust Gym on Saturday January 31st for a 1 pm tip-off.
