The Lower Columbia women's basketball team will not be taking any momentum into West Region play after an 83-78 loss to Blue Mountain on the final day of the Lower Columbia Holiday Classic on Tuesday December 30th.
Down 17 at halftime, the Devils rallied to take a lead down the stretch, but the Timberwolves hit some big shots to come away with the victory. T-Wolves star Mar'Shay Moore had 28 points to lead the way. Moore was named to the All-Tournament team.
Kaylea Knox, also an All-Tourney selection, had 15 points, including 4 for 9 shooting from three-point range. Sierra Richards had another double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Donniesha Webber had 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Devils continue to turn the ball over at a concerning rate. They had 24 miscues against Blue Mountain.
The Devils jumped out to a 10-2 lead at the outset of the game, then the Timberwolves went on a key 18-0 run. LCC had great intensity in the second half to make it a game.
The Devils now wipe the slate clean and get ready for the opening of West Region play on Saturday January 3rd. LCC travels to Olympia for a 3 pm game against the South Puget Sound Clippers.
