The 2020 season was Coach Chicks first season at the helm of LCC Soccer. He took over during a tough time with everything up in the air due to the Covid-19 pandemic but Chicks took the time to push the players and use the short season to expand their skills.Â
Joe lead the Red Devils to a 6-5 conference, 8-7 overall, record in the 2021 season and were one game out of NWAC tournament play, marking the best season for the Devils since 2018. Â
With 15 returning players and a stellar recruiting class the Red Devils look poised to make a serious run at the NWAC championships in the 2022 season.Â
Chicks began his coaching career with several stops at the youth level including stints with Pacific FC, the Washington Timbers and Vancouver City. He then moved on to Fort Vancouver where he coached the Trapper girls in 2014. Chicks then began a great run of five years as head coach of both the Hockinson boys and girls soccer teams. The Hockinson girls program under Chicks reached the WIAA 2A championship match in 2019. His Hawks played in two District title games and were the 2018 league champs. Chicks also has put an emphasis on academics has his teams won two WIAA Academic state titles in his five years.Â
