TACOMA, Wa. — Lower Columbia tied Tacoma 0-0 on Saturday. LCC recorded 11 of its 13 shots after halftime and finished with a 13-7 edge in shots while its goalkeeper made two saves in the shutout.
The Red Devils kept Tacoma off the board throughout the first half, with
Leeann Williams making a save on Isabella Long's shot at 4:45. After Tacoma put another attempt wide at 10:06, LCC created its first set-piece chance on
Sam Roundtree's corner kick at 12:44 and later got a shot from
Alyssa Gregory that went wide right in the 23rd minute.
Annabelle Rogers gave the Red Devils another corner in the 31st minute, and the defense handled a late Tacoma look that went wide at 39:15. Roundtree had LCC's final attempt of the half at 43:31, sending the teams into halftime still scoreless.
After halftime, the Red Devils generated 11 shots and two corner kicks, but five saves by Olivia Meyer kept the match scoreless.
Maylee Reynolds put an early attempt high in the 48th minute and later forced a save, while
Leeann Williams answered Tacoma's 56th-minute shot from Melanie Uhrich to preserve the 0-0 score. LCC built a sustained stretch from the 60th through 74th minutes, with
Ada Labowitz,
Hannah Fay,
Payton Bullmore, Reynolds and
Delanie Zueger all taking shots around two Roundtree corner kicks. After Tacoma hit the crossbar in the 86th minute, the Red Devils pushed again with shots from Reynolds, Roundtree and another Roundtree effort saved in the 89th, before Tacoma sent two late attempts off target and the match finished 0-0.
Reynolds led LCC with four shots and put one on goal. Reynolds achieved a career milestone with 50 shots on goal, including her effort in this game. Roundtree added three shots, including one on frame.
Leeann Williams played all 90 minutes in goal, made two saves and did not allow a goal.
