Hot Shooting Chokers Beat Devils

(Aberdeen, WA) -- The Grays Harbor Chokers closed out their season with a hot shooting night and they upset the Lower Columbia College Red Devils 73-70 on Wednesday February 25th.

Grays Harbor hit 12 of 24 three-pointers and held the Devils off down the stretch to snap a seven game losing streak against LCC.

Down three with eight seconds left, the Devils got a good look at a three but the shot was just off and the Chokers celebrated a nice win in their season finale.

The playoff bound Red Devils were swimming upstream most of the game.  Noah Schow had a big game for Lower Columbia with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Grays Harbor opened the game with a 7-0 lead and they also had a 12 point lead in the second half.  Despite LCC coming back to make it a game, the Chokers were able to celebrate with the win. GH was 45% from the floor, 50% from three point range and they hit 11 of 13 free throws (85%).

James Grose had 16 points for LCC. Chance White had 11.

The defending NWAC champion Red Devils begin defense of their crown Wednesday March 4th at the NWAC Championship tournament in Pasco, WA.  LCC has the first game of the tourney, a 12 pm start against the Clark Penguins.

Lower Columbia is the #2 seed out of the West Region.  The Devils streak of six straight region titles came to an end this season.
