ABERDEEN, Wash. — Lower Columbia defeated Grays Harbor 9-0 on Wednesday. LCC scored eight times in the first half and finished with a 26-3 shot advantage, including 17 shots on goal.
The Red Devils put pressure on Grays Harbor immediately, earning a corner at 1:32 and getting an
Ada Labowitz shot before Labowitz scored from
Delanie Zueger at 5:45 for a 1-0 lead. LCC kept the attack moving through the next several minutes, with
Maylee Reynolds forcing three saves from AJ Parra and
Zoe Ernst adding another saved shot before
Hannah Fay scored off
Alyssa Gregory's assist at 20:28. Labowitz struck again from
Addison Hartley at 23:05 and Hartley scored from
Sam Roundtree one second later to make it 4-0, and after a Grays Harbor shot went wide at 26:20,
Raelie Guizzotti and Ernst added goals at 29:25 and 34:49. Marina Marll hit the crossbar for Grays Harbor at 37:42, but LCC added late goals from Roundtree and Gregory to take an 8-0 lead into halftime.
LCC recorded the first shots of the second half when Reynolds and Gregory put attempts on goal in the 61st and 63rd minutes, with AJ Parra saving both. Gregory took a corner kick at 66:17, and Hartley scored at 66:32 to extend the Red Devils' lead to 9-0. Grays Harbor put a shot on frame through Abby Mainio at 69:36, but
Haley Loll made the save, and LCC finished off the 9-0 win.
