(Longview, WA) -- One of the great catchers in Lower Columbia College history was taken on the second day of the Major League Baseball Draft on Monday July 14th.
Justin Stransky was taken in the 10th round of the draft, the 301st player selected, by the Chicago Cubs.
Stransky finished off an outstanding two year stint at Fresno State, where the senior was named as an All-Mountain West first team catcher. In his two years at Fresno State, Stransky hit .304 with 15 homers and 68 RBI's.
Stransky had two outstanding seasons for Lower Columbia. He hit .323 in 91 games for the Devils with eight homers and 53 RBI's. He led the Red Devils to the 2023 NWAC championship.
