GAME ONE
(Longview, WA) Lower Columbia pulled off a dramatic 10-9 comeback victory over Bellevue at David Story Field in Longview, Washington. The Red Devils trailed for much of the game but mounted an impressive late-inning surge, scoring eight runs over the final three frames to snatch the win.
The winning pitcher for Lower Columbia was Dante Santulli, who entered in relief and held Bellevue's offense in check when it mattered most.Â
On the other side, Mason Goodson took the loss for Bellevue, struggling against the Red Devils' relentless attack in the late innings.
At the plate, Lower Columbia's offense was fueled by several standout performances. Harlan Rowe, who went 3 for 3, including a double to start the comeback in the 7th inning.Â
Owen Cummins was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's and a double. Matthew Bailey also went 2 for 4 at the plate.Â
Bellevue appeared in control after a five-run explosion in the sixth inning, but Lower Columbia refused to back down. Scoring 8 runs in the final three frames, the Red Devils' determination and offensive firepower proved too much in the end, securing their second straight win to remain undefeated.
GAME TWO
Bellevue jump out quick with a three run bomb by Tyler Schertenleib in the top of the second. The Red Devils responded though with three runs of their own in the btm of the second to even it up. Rowe then doubled to score Sam Davidson to put the Devils up one in the fourth before the Bulldogs retired the side.Â
Lower Columbia added two more in the 5th off of hits by Dossen Morrow and Blake Mattern to go up 6-3. Devils pitching closed it out with strong performances in the 6th and 7th.
Caiden Spanier got the win for the Devils with 5 innings of work striking out 5 and walking 3. Matthew Kosderka earned his 2nd save of the season on 2 IP, with 3 SO vs 7 batters.Â
