(Olympia, WA) In a tightly contested match-up on January 18, 2025, the South Puget Sound Clippers defeated the Lower Columbia Red Devils 65-60 at SPSCC. Despite a strong effort from the Red Devils, they were unable to overcome the Clippers' superior rebounding and shooting efficiency.
South Puget Sound had the edge in several key areas, shooting 42.9% from the field compared to Lower Columbia's 37.9%. From beyond the arc, the Clippers were more accurate, hitting 35.7% of their three-point attempts, while the Red Devils managed just 23.1%. At the free-throw line, the Clippers converted 66.7% of their attempts (12-18), outpacing Lower Columbia, who shot 57.1% (4-7). Rebounding was a significant factor in the game, with the Clippers dominating the boards 42-25. Both teams struggled with turnovers, with Lower Columbia committing 19 and South Puget Sound 22.

Lauren Katyryniuk led the way with 14 points, adding four rebounds and shooting 4-of-9 from three-point range.

Michaela Medico provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and four rebounds in just 16 minutes, while

South Puget Sound's standout player was Jaynee Tanner, who dominated the game with 12 points and an impressive 18 rebounds, establishing a critical presence in the paint.
