Devils Win With A Huge Second Half

(Lakewood, WA) – A tied game at the half turned into a Lower Columbia blowout.
 
The Red Devils scored 62 points in the second half in a 92-61 road victory at Pierce.
 
With the game locked 30-30 at the intermission, LCC came out on fire in the third quarter outscoring the Raiders 32-9 in the quarter.
 
With the game out of hand in the 4th quarter, Pierce head coach Marquessa Gilson, a former LCC assistant coach, came on the floor to protest a call and received two T's and was ejected.
 
The Devils performance in the third quarter was the cause of the frustration.  LCC forced 43 Pierce turnovers and the Devils had 26 steals.
 
Three Devil players scored 20 points in the game.  Kayla Kasubuchi had 20 points, seven assists and six steals.  Bailee Larson had 20 points, four boards and five assists.  Karlee VonMoos had 20 points, nine caroms, three assists and four steals.
 
Payton Torrey led the larceny with seven steals to go along with five points and five assists.  Morgan Hamilton had four steals along with eight points.
 
The Devils raised their West Region record to 8-1, 18-6 overall. LCC remains tied with Green River for the top spot in the West.
 
The final home game of the season will be Wednesday February 21 against Centralia.  It's Sophomore Night and LCC Athletics Hall of Fame Night.  Tip off is at 5:30 pm.
