(Tacoma, WA) In a great display of skill and resilience, the Lower Columbia College (LCC) Red Devils swept the Tacoma Titans in a commanding 3-0 victory on November 1st, securing their place in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Volleyball playoffs. The Red Devils, demonstrating remarkable dominance on the court, took each set with scores of 25-17, 25-23, and 27-25.
LCC's offensive lineup outshone Tacoma's efforts from the first serve, with standout performances by
Samantha Farland and
Kenny Collins, who combined to deliver a total of 23 kills.
Morgan Garrison anchored the defensive wall, contributing a stunning six solo blocks that left the Titans struggling to regain momentum. The Red Devils also displayed finesse in serving, with
Allison Orantes and Garrison racking up crucial aces that turned the tide in favor of LCC.
The Titans attempted a comeback in the third set, managing to push the score to a nail-biting 27-25, but the Red Devils held firm under pressure, exemplifying their superior teamwork and strategic play. LCC's commitment on defense was clear with a total of 69 digs, proving their determination to keep every play alive. With this critical win, the Red Devils clinch their spot in the NWAC playoffs, while Tacoma's season comes to a close.Â
This victory not only represents LCC's exceptional talent and unity but also sets the stage for a promising playoff run.
The Devils finish off their regular season schedule with on Wednesday, November 6, at home vs the South Puget Sound Clippers. This is also sophomore night.Â
