(Pasco, WA) The Red Devils gave it their all at the NWAC Regionals, battling hard but falling 0-3 (19-25, 18-25, 23-25) to Bellevue and 1-3 (8-25, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25) to Clackamas in their season finale.
Game 1: Lower Columbia vs. Bellevue
The Lower Columbia Red Devils opened their NWAC Volleyball Regionals campaign with a valiant effort against the Bellevue Bulldogs, ultimately falling 0-3 (19-25, 18-25, 23-25). The Red Devils pushed the top-seeded Bulldogs, particularly in the third set, where they showcased their fighting spirit.
Samantha Farland led Lower Columbia's offense with 11 kills and added three total blocks, while
Kenny Collins chipped in with seven kills and eight digs. The Red Devils' defense was highlighted by
Madi Noel's 17 digs, showcasing grit against Bellevue's high-powered offense. Though the Bulldogs ultimately prevailed with their efficiency, the Red Devils forced Bellevue into uncharacteristic errors, particularly in the third set, demonstrating their ability to compete at the highest level.
Game 2: Lower Columbia vs. Clackamas
The Red Devils displayed resilience and heart in their second match, taking a set off the Clackamas Cougars in a hard-fought 1-3 (8-25, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25) loss. Lower Columbia regrouped after a tough first set, roaring back in the second to outlast Clackamas behind stellar play from
Kenny Collins, who tallied an impressive 16 kills (.196) and 15 digs.
Samantha Farland also shone with 14 kills and three total blocks, while
Allison Orantes expertly facilitated the attack with 21 assists.
The Red Devils' defense refused to back down, with standout contributions from Noel (12 digs) and Collins. Their effort at the net was highlighted by nine team blocks, including key plays from
Morgan Garrison and
Layni Brandhorst, who helped neutralize Clackamas' offense at critical moments.
As the season concludes, the Red Devils bid farewell to their talented sophomore class, including
