(Centralia, WA) Lower Columbia secured a strong 3-0 win over the Centralia Trailblazers on October 16, 2024, at Bob Peters Field.
The Red Devils got off to a quick start, with defender
Ava Young scoring the opening goal just two minutes into the game. This early strike gave Lower Columbia the momentum, which they maintained throughout the first half. At the 30-minute mark,
Kari Pate doubled their lead, finishing a well-placed pass from
Avery Kimball.
In the second half, Lower Columbia continued their pressure on the Trailblazers. At the 50-minute mark,
Brynlee Grant found the back of the net, capitalizing on an assist from
Rhyli Grim to make it 3-0. The Red Devils were relentless in attack, registering 19 total shots and forcing Centralia's goalkeeper to make 11 saves. Their defense also held firm, with goalkeeper
Jade Goulding contributing nine crucial saves to keep a clean sheet.
Despite the Trailblazers efforts, they were unable to break through, managing only 9 shots, 6 of which were on target. Lower Columbia's discipline slipped slightly in the latter stages of the game, with two yellow cards given to
Alexia Valdez and
