Devils take three of Four over Clark

Devils welcomed Clark back to the west region by taking three of four (3-0, 3-2, 14-3, 2-7) on Friday, April 7th and Saturday, April 8th.

Game One - LCC 3 Clark 0
Under the lights at Story Field on Friday the Devils defense was outstanding, holding the Penguins scoreless with only 7 hits. Camden Oram and Tyler Peterson were a wall in the infield with 7 and 6 assist respectively.
The Devils three runs were spread out with 1 in the 2nd, 1 in the 4th and 1 in the 7th but that was more than enough.

Easton Amundson was 2 for 3 at the plate with a walk and a SB
Kyle Parkman and Nate Gray Jr both were 2 for 4
Tyler Peterson was 1 for 3 with the only extra base hit of the game, a walk, and an rbi
Wren Cecil was 1 for 2 with and rbi
Winning Pitcher was Owen Luchies with 7.2 innings of work with 1 SO, 1 walk, and 7 hits
Mac Elske got the save throw for 1.1 innings with 2 SO, 1 BB, and 0 hits

Game Two – LCC 3 Clark 2
The second game of the night was much different as the Penguins game out swinging, scoring a run int 2nd and the 4th innings to take a 2-0 lead. Devils plated a run in the 4th to make it a 1 run game off of a Kyle Parkman fielder's choice single to score Amundson.

That is where the score would stay until the bottom of the 7th . Parkman singled, Nick Miller Sac Bunt moves Parkman over to second. Bryan Falk goes down looking for out number 2. Matthew Lewis reaches 1st on a Clark throwing error scoring Parkman to tie it up at two runs, Lewis advances to second on the over throw. Lewis then moves over to third on a wild pitch and then scores the winning run on another wild pitch.

Devils only had 4 hits but once again solid defense and smart base running kept it in reach for the win.

Camden Oram got the W with 3.1 innings of work with 2 SO, 3 BB, 2 hits, 0 ER
Brayden Wells put in 3.2 innings with 4 SO, 4 BB, 4 hits, and 2 ER

Game Three - LCC 14 Clark 3
With the heavy rains Clark moved their home games to the Evergreen High School fields and thru the first 6 innings of game one it was close with the Clark up by a run (3-2) going into the 7th.

Parkman flew out to left to start off the inning then Miller, Cecil, and Lewis were all hit by a pitch to load the bases. Clark makes a pitching change with Tyler Peterson up to bat. Peterson reaches on a fielder's choice that gets Lewis out at second and scores Miller, but the Clark short stop over throws the DP attempt advancing Peterson to second and scoring Cecil to make it 4-3 LCC.

Another Clark pitching change, and Tyler Reese steps up to single and score Peterson making it 5-3 LCC. Clark finally gets the 3rd out but the damage is done. Bottom of the 7th LCC defense holds tight to make it a quick 4 batter inning for the Penguins.
Top of the 8th Lower Columbia went on a bit of a hit fest with 7 hits scoring 9 runs including back to Back home runs by Easton Amundson (3 rbi's) and Cayden Wotipka (solo) to make it 14-3.
